Hi,

Back in February I posted this question and received an auto-reply saying that
since this was a moderated list,  I had to wait for approval.  I don't think approval
ever happened as my question never appeared.

If there's something wrong with this question, please tell me and maybe I
can rephrase to make it acceptable.

Thanks!

carl

Subject: Problem using WinMerge on encrypted file system
To: winmerge-support@lists.sourceforge.net

Hi,

I am using WinMerge 2.6.4.0 on Windows XP SP2.

I keep some source files in a local Windows file system that has
Windows "Encrpyt" attributes set.

If I try to use WinMerge between a couple of files in this tree, I always get an
error message "Temporary files could not be created  Check your temporary
path settings."

If I copy the files outside this encrypted directory, then WinMerge will happily
compare them.

I have looked all over for some mention of this problem without finding anything
so I'm wondering if there's a solution I have not thought of.

Thanks!

carl
