With version 2.14.0.0 Unicode for Windows 10 x64, create a new pair of documents.

Type "test.nett" into the left (without quotes), "test.net" into the right similarly.
Ensure Option Editor > Line Differencing Coloring > View line differences checked, Character level radio selected and "Break at whitespace" chosen.
Press F5 to compare.

Note that the difference with ending letter "t" is not highlighted.

Try again with the "Break at whitespace or punctuation" option chosen, and the trailing letter difference is highlighted, despite the fact that the Word-level option should not correlate to the Character level setting (per the manual and UI indenting).

For workaround I leave "Break at whitespace or punctuation" set while using Character level comparison to ensure differences are highlighted within the line.
