Hello, My name is Sun Kim (sun818). I sell the Packard Bell FastMedia Remote at http://sun818.home.mindspring.com/html/ir_remote.htm With each remote, I have been including a copy of WinLIRC and the WinAmp plugin. I wanted to help my buyers minimize setup. The WinAmp plugin stores its configuration in the registry doesn't it? Are the registry settings in a consistent location for all the OSes? Here is what I found in my Windows 2000 workstation. I assume the left items are Button IDs and the right is the action? Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Winamp\WinLIRC Plugin] "Left"="Rewind" "Right"="Fast Forward" "Down"="Stop" "Up"="Play" "LMB"="Previous Track" "RMB"="Next Track" "VolUp"="Volume Up" "VolDown"="Volume Down" "Mute"="Volume Down 5" |

I suppose it should try to use HKEY_CURRENT_USER instead of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE for the benefit of Win2000/WinXP users, but for now it's always in that location. The left is the actual button ID as listed in WinLIRC's config file, and the right is the action. You can get a list of all actions in gen_ir.h (in gen_ir-0.3.zip). (If I do change the plugin to prefer HKEY_CURRENT_USER, it will still fall back to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE if that's not found, so your entries would still work fine). -jim |
