Windows Power Utilities (WPU) is a collection site for useful programs that I have collected or written over the years. They are all free and in the public domain. For example there's OCR_Manager. OCR_Manager is a collection of scripts designed to manage Tesseract-ocr, a public domain optical character reader that can be used to extract text from images. Tesseract-ocr is a useful program, but somewhat hard for most people to use. Hence OCR_Manager is designed to simplify it's use.

This site is under construction in that utilities are still being added to it.

Here is the current list of available programs and documents:

• [Windows Power Tips] -- Document containing useful information about WPU. This is a living document and will grow over time.
• [OCR_Manager] -- Manages the Tesseract-ocr public domain OCR program. OCR_Manager supports converting images to text for Image PDF to Searchable PDF, Images with text to Searchable PDF, and the Clipboard with text images to Searchable PDF
• [Simple_Utilities] -- A script to open a shell window, a script to perform a simple backup, path manipulation
