Quick Overview

The Documentor script is designed to be very easy to use and require very little of a system to get things done. Unlike a lot of other data gathering tools it is meant to primarily used as a UI based tool and should gather data in an almost slap dash manner. Bottom line you can execute this script file and work with the script interactively, you don't need to assemble command line routines, you don't need to install the lastest version of powershell, you don't need to have .NET frameworks installed.

Simply double-click the documentorX.X.X.js file and wscript.exe should execute the script file launching the Internet Explorer based web interface. When this launches you'll see three tabs for use putting in user data:

  • [Credentials] - you can add multiple set of credentials if necessary, this is very useful if you're scanning a workgroup or environment where there is a mixture of domain and non-domain systems.
  • [Options] - specify the data points you wish to gather from the systems targeted during the scan
  • [Execute] - final settings to specify which systems will be targeted, if you do nothing on this tab the default trageted system is the machine the script is running on. For local systems no need to fill in credentials, just run click the Run... button.

It is pretty simple if you want to do nothing but collect on local system for a demonstration of the script working, click the Options tab, click the All button, click the Execute tab, and then click the Run... button.
