In reference to "Mouse transition between screens - ID: 980156", the poster said:
"The cursor when moved off the Win2VNC computer to the VNC Server computer, has a lag in it's transition going to the VNC Server machine. A screen blip/refresh and loss of foremost window focus also happens as well on the Win2VNC machine."
And your response was:
"I'm not sure about the lag, but the blip/refresh is by design. Upon activation Win2VNC gets focus causing this behaviour. When going back to previous foremost window, that is before activating Win2VNC, should get focus again. Concerning the lag, I don't see it. That is on a 10 Mbit switched LAN. A few milliseconds is spend for sure, if it is seconds I would suggest to check your network first."
I also have this issue, and wanted to give a bit more information on it, in the hopes that maybe a work around could be determined. What causes the lag, is a complete refresh of all windows. The time that refresh takes depends on what you have on your screen.
I have a dual-screen setup, and I usually have 2+ VNC windows and 2+ RDP windows open. I have a 3rd screen connected to another computer, which I control using Win2VNC. When I make the transition, EVERY visible window, on both local screens does a FULL refresh. This refresh is comprehensive, and because of the remote nature of the window's contents, is highly CPU & network intensive. All this causes a massive visual disturbance and a significant delay in transition to the 3rd screen.
In contrast, if I maximize a browser on one screen and a text editor on the other, the screen refresh is very fast, and there is no noticeable delay in transition.
You said it's "by design", but doing a complete refresh of ALL windows on ALL screens seems unnecessary. There must be a way for Win2VNC to grab focus without refreshing the entire desktop.
