    There's a related project called TouchGraph. www.sourceforge.net/projects/touchgraph
Touchgraph does 2d representation of graph structures.

And another project called Lucid Fried Eggs.
    www.sourceforge.net/projects/lucid
Lucid does no visual representation of graphs, but allows for collaborative graph production in an html interface. Lucid exports to touchgraph directly.

Lucid also exports to ThoughtStream which has yet another dtd. Maybe we should work on standardizing on a dtd for graph structures.

Yes, that's a good point.  Actually there are a couple of XML DTD proposal for graphs that I'm aware of: http://www.gupro.de/GXL and http://www.cwi.nl/InfoVisu/GraphXML.

I didn't use either for Wilma mainly because I'm lazy and it was quicker to invent my own than to do a quick web search.  From the quick look I've had at GXL it doesn't look like it does heirarchical graphs.  GraphXML does support heirarchical graphs but frankly I think I like the way I did it in the WilmaScope.dtd (the wilma DTD) better, ie, simply nesting clusters.

Perhaps something that might be worth working on is a set of XSLT transform thinggies (which I haven't played with much) to convert the various formats... or maybe just bite the bullet and make Wilma support GraphXML.

      Cheers

      Tim
