I read almost every post but nothing helped me so far.

WillowTree# does not support the japanese release of Borderlands.  If you try to load a save from the japanese release of Borderlands you will receive the Not a WSG error because the format of Japan's saves is different.

If you are playing a US or international version of the game then the problem you are having is that the file you are opening is either completely corrupted (probably has 0 length if this is the case) or it is not a savegame file from Borderlands.  Perhaps you are trying to open a save from Borderlands 2?  WillowTree# has no support for Borderlands 2.  It is only for the first Borderlands game.

A PS3 Borderlands savegame file should have WSG as the first three letters of the savegame file.  If you open it in a hex editor or in notepad even and the first three characters are not WSG then it is corrupt or you aren't actually opening a savegame file.  This is what the 'Not a WSG' error means.  A proper savegame file usually should be named something like Save0001.sav.

Take note that the exact case of the letters in the filenames is important on PS3 so if you copy or rename a file on your USB stick, be sure that the replacement has the same upper and lower case characters as the original.  Improper case will not stop WillowTree# from working, but it might prevent a save from working when you try to load it back on your PS3.
