I was editing the Proficiency on my level 69 Character and it worked, so after that i went and changed the backpack space to 42 and skill points to 36 to get the rest of the skills, saved it and safely removed the flash drive. when i took it out, my computer made a very loud beep noise and my data would not show up on the hard drive. i than changed the data from bak.1 (which instead of the normal borderlands symbol a little tiger became the emblem, Also the console I.D. was set back to 0) to bak.2 and it would show up but when i would use the character it would bring me back to the begging and when it saves it is is a new character. what do i do? Im using Version 2.2.1

I suggest making a new character, getting all of it's proficiencies to level 1, and editing it back to how you wanted it.
You'll probably never get the old one back, but you can remake it.
i figured it out. i just can't have the file as a .sav.bak file.
