Editor Controls

The Wildflower editor controls are based around a WASD hand position with most keyboard controls being close to that location. The WASD keys themselves navigate the quick select grid of tiles and object types which can be useful for tile editing especially. Each of the 3 mouse buttons serves an important purpose. Left mouse is an action button, middle mouse controls the camera and right mouse is the rectangle select tool. The Ctrl and Shift are modifier keys. Alt is also a modifier with a specific purpose, it makes the right mouse rectangle select a multi layer selection, which can also be done by

Game Controls

By default Wildflower is setup to make a platforming style game that uses 3 Sifteo Cubes. One cube, called the "Info Cube", shows a hud, mini map and several lines of text. The other two cubes are game screens where the action happens. When playing with Sifteo cubes try to keep them near the base to reduce lag and stutter caused by radio interference.

  • Tilt the cube the player is on to move the player.
  • Touch the cube to jump, holding longer will increase your jump height slightly.
  • Touch the info cube to hide/reshow the current message.
  • Touch and hold the info screen to pause the game and open the pause menu where many more actions can be performed.
  • Double tap the player's screen to transform into a ball if you have the ball powerup (or on PC just single touch, i.e. middle click).
  • Just hold touch to swim, climb, or use the jetpack.

Siftulator Controls

The Siftulator controls use only the mouse to interact with the cubes.

  • Use left mouse to grab a cube and move it. You can click in the center to square it or on a corner to drag it around.
  • Use right mouse to tilt cubes to move and jump.
  • Use left+right mouse to pick cubes up off the table.
  • Use middle mouse or ctrl+click to touch cubes.
  • You must do this to start the game!
  • You can also use mouse wheel to zoom.
  • I made a video demonstrating how to play Squaresville in the Siftulator.
