      Hello Sara!
Change the permission level for the folder where the program was installed with these steps:
      1. Right-click the folder, and then click Properties.
      2. Click the Security tab, and then click Edit.
      3. Select the user name, that you use to log on to your computer (Add this user if it's not already listed) and set the permission level to "Full control" for this user. Click OK.

Please let me know if this fixed your problem. Thank you.

I ran the program from the usb, in the computer with Windows Vista, and it works perfect.

I don't understand why it not work from the hard disk.

      Hello Sara.
I think I have the solution and it should be simple. When I told you in my first answer that this issue is produced by the permission level I was right but I was wrong about the settings you should change to fix it.
First a bit of background: When you want to play the pronunciation for a English word, the program will download a audio file from Internet. This file will be saved to the WikSpeak folder but if the program doesn't have permission to write inside the folder, the program will return this error.
(The operating system grands unrestricted access to the USB sticks to be written by any program, that is why WikSpeak works fine inside them.)
Now let's see the steps to fix the problem:
1.Using Windows Explorer program browse to the WikSpeak folder.
      2. Right-click the folder and then click Properties.
      3. In the bottom of the Properties window, you will find the readonly attribute check box. This check box MUST be unchecked. Click OK to save the settings.

Please let me know if the this fixed your problem. Thank you.
