In order to generate list of articles needing attention
automatically, sorted by most-recently-posted or by
most-popular, it would be great to have the following
variables:

{{Recency}} with values:
1 if modified today
2 if modified yesterday
3 if modified in the last week
4 if modified in the last month
5 if modified in the last 6 months
6 if older

{{priority}} with values:
1 if the page is referenced more than 500 times by other
articles
2 if between 200 and 500 references
...
9 if 1 or 2 references

These variables should be based on the article when
used in the talk page. They can be used to build the
sort key of categories, automatically building the
appropriate list of article in the correct order. This
would facilitate the collaboration on tasks.

See [[Wikipedia talk:Todo list]] for rationale, and
contact me through this page.

Thanks for considering it !

This would not work at all; the categories are only be updated when the
    page is edited.

NB: the {priority} does not have to be calculated in real time:
this is a slow changing property.

Indeed, this may not work for recency, but would very well
work for {{priority}}, because the priority does not change
    much. Please reconsider.
