Hi! You the nail right on the head!!! What we have there right now is the basic map taken from google map. We need to: 1. Add engine to create layers to add point, roads, area etc. 2. Add data collector layer to get input from users on point, road... 3. Add filter to selectively show/hide different data type 4. Add versioning support of all data 5. Address resolution logic to locate a house from address 6. Best route finder 7. Direction guide 8. Speech interface (stretch target) That's a long way to go.... Hope this briefly describe the tasks we have on our hand Regards Soumya ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- peekay wrote: > > looks ok to me .. to proceed to build on top of google maps > > for calcutta, there are virtually no details and the pics are 2 or 3 > yrs old > > if we could add 'layers' on top of google's maps .. > > ..peekay > > |

On 12th meeting we had discussed on sending sample GPS data files. These files are required to unearth any data format issues early in project. Wiki-map site [http://wiki-map.sf.net] is updated for file uploading. Please upload the sample files there urgently. -- Regards Soumya |

Just created a user for database input. Please explain the unit format for the co-ordinate data and the datum to be followed, that the database will take as an input. A clear understanding for this is vital before we start accumulating data based on mutliple unit formats and datums. with Regards, ASHWIN Soumya wrote: > As discussed in the 12th meeting, database has been setup in > sourceforge and user interface for data entry developed for wiki-map. > This being a custom developed interface with database support has > better control and data security. As discussed in the 12th meeting, database has been setup in sourceforge and user interface for data entry developed for wiki-map. This being a custom developed interface with database support has better control and data security. [ http://wiki-map.sf.net ] For obvious reasons, you have to register yourself and login to add data to the site. :-) I have added a new forum for wiki-map: user interface [http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=512541] Please direct your suggestions, requirement on user interface to that forum. Wish you happy charting. -- Regards Soumya |
