If you attempt to make a package of perl itself, which
some people have needed, you'll quickly find that all
of your packages are compiled with the system perl, and
not the perl you've packaged for the archive.
Also you' probably will want all perl modules to depend
on perl so that if perl is installed, or a new perl is
installed, all of those modules will be rebuilt.
One proposed approach is to modify build-make-style
to use perl as found in the current path. rather than
the '$perl5'
found by configure at wigwam bootstrap.
then we would modify all perl style packages to
automatically depend on perl, however if there is no
perl installed in the project then a
phantom perl version 0.0 could be considered to be
installed.
therefore anyone who installed perl, would trigger an
upgrade and all dependant perl modules would get
recompiled. (just to be safe. )

rather than just changing $perl5 to perl, we could at least
go through the same sort of check as exists in
autodetect-system-packages (look in $PLAYPEN_ROOT/ext/bin
first, of course), then use that as the perl version. The
rest I like.
That is, I think I like... In terms of modifying all perl
style packages to automatically depend on perl, you're
meaning to do something to dynamically add perl into the
dependency list for anything that is a perl configure style?
