I am using wifi-box.net release version 2.02.2.2.wfb
9/24/04.
Connecting to a windows xp peer to peer network.
I have set up the pptp server on the wrt54g that will
authenticate users just fine. Great I am on the
network and I authenticate ok-- however this is when
things get screwy.
these are the issues i am having:
I can go out to shares on the remote network and view
the contents on the first level of the share. If I
open a subfolder explorer times out/ crashes. If I try
downloading a file, windows explorer will crash or time
out.
I can use http to go to the remote wrt54g router and
can browse, just fine when connected to the vpn.
I can ping any of the computers on the network just
fine, without errors and at a pretty good speed.

It almost seems like a windows authentication issue but
then why can I see the top levels of the directories?
I would think that if was having problems
authenticating to see the share, I wouldn't be able to
access the share at all.
Any ideas or suggestions?

I have the same problem, telnet to the remote machine works,
remote command execution (psexec.exe) works, DOS (net use)
and copying works, but when it comes to browsing remote
files (C$) or remote computer management it hangs and/or
times out. I'm doing it over VPN Windows XP to Windows XP
using XP native VPN client. Both machines are running SP2
(maybe SP2 broke it?) I can't remember if it worked b4 SP2
or not. I'm running same version as above. Please let me
know if someone was able to successfully connect XP to XP
over VPN. Thanks. Vader
