When I enable UPnP and try to enable Internetgateway
in XP the router disconnects and looses its internet
connection type settings and falls back to the default
automatic configuration-DHCP setting. I am running
XPPro and have already disabled QoS in Network adapter.

I have exactly the same problme for a long time now. New
Firwares are released but the bug is still there. Would it be
possible to fix ths issue as UPNP is very important for people
using MSN Messenger for exemple.
Thanks anyway for the huge work you already did and keep
up the good job.

This is actually a known Linksys bug, and it has been
discussed in a few other forums.
I have a WRT54G 1.0 with a PPPOE ADSL connection, and my
Internet Connection shows that it is Enabled, but not initially.
Every time I perform a firmware upgrade, it resets to
Disabled. Anyway here's what I do every time to get it
working again.
1. Reset the router to Factory defaults. Yes, I know I lose all
the settings!
2. Change the Admin password AND enable UPnP (I also
disable Telnet at the same time). Save the changes.
3. Check Internet Connection status. If still disabled, repeat
#1 and #2. Only if it shows Enabled, then do I continue with
setting up my ADSL connection, etc.
Hope this can help.

Same problem here as well.
There is a rumour floating around the Sveasoft forums that
there's a workaround for this by using some sort-of new
PPPoE base for Linux. It may be worth investigating this.

This affects me too. There are rumors this is fixed in the
latest Linksys firmware. Can we not fold in their change
into our codebase as well?
