It's been quite a while since our last release, but I think you'll be pleased with this. It's nothing that big, but the CFrame class has been expanded, and a new Message Box class has been added. As usual, see the changelog for full details. Rob Wiskow (GreenWire) |

I finally released wGui 0.4.0. Go check out the README and CHANGES files for details. MD5 checksums, the new docs, and the new stats page should be up Monday (12/13/04). Rob (greenwire) |

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I've found what I think is possibly a bug in SDL's memory management. It appears as a crashing bug in TestApp1, when you right click to bring up a context menu, and select the "Edit Box 1" submenu (CVS prior to 8/3/2004). The crash happens while it's trying to resize the popup menu it's about to show, and it's deleting the old buffer for that window. This is extremely hard to debug, but I think it may be that the root popup menu is screwing up some of the memory when it's resized for showing. I removed the "Menu Item 3" from the root menu, and things appear to now work. Something to keep an eye out for in the future. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.4 (MingW32) - WinPT 0.9.2 iD8DBQFBD/bv1TzhIJYemRgRAtCwAKCTCGfRZVJmR0rW+OUDatTcY1wquwCguYJ7 HPpui4KZ8HWEKIM0TDklKg0= =snm6 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 A lot of work got done through July on the new drawing system for wGui. The new code is almost completed, so hopefully we'll have the 0.4.0 release soon (though Doom 3 might interfere with that a little). Other than a few very minor bugs, the code in CVS should be fully working if you want to get a head start. We may do a Release Candidate before the 0.4.0 release, but that hasn't yet been decided. Besides a little bit of code cleanup, the main thing that needs to be done yet for the next release is updating the documentation. I'll keep you all informed. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 We will be releasing wGui Version 0.3.3 very soon (hopefully next week sometime). Please submit any bugs ASAP, so we can fix them before the release. This release will only feature a few small changes and bugfixes, but will pave the way for version 0.4.0, which is due next. Version 0.4 will require some fairly large changes to the drawing architecture, so it'll probably be a while before it's released. See the development roadmap news post for more details. As of 5 minutes ago, the tree will not build. I started from a clean developer tree, ran automake, configure, make and got errors in the makefile: $ make Making all in src make[1]: Entering directory `/home/wzutz/dev/wgui/src' Makefile:331: *** missing separator. Cool, good idea for the cvs mailing list, that'll be nice. As can be seen, we haven't been using the mailing list much, as most of the discussion has taken place via IM. We're hoping to change this in the future, so we can get a better archive of what has been discussed. I've also created a wgui-cvs mailing list, and set up a CVS script so that all future CVS commit diffs will be sent there. |
