Uhm, I didnt confirm my membership before I sent this the first time, so =
here it is again its what that other email is in reply to ........
Hey people, first, nice system, you created here, second...
I made a post at one of the PHPNuke webportal support forums to see if =
anyone was interested in making WEPS available as a module for =
PHPNuke(my original post below). I'm going to wait to see if any of them =
are interested in doing it themself cause I know very little about the =
innerworkings of PHPnuke so far. If I dont get any good feedback I will =
do it myself, and if anyone wants to help, they are more then welcome. =
Actually, I'm Very New to WEPS, PHPNuke and PHP itself, so if someone =
here uses phpnuke and wants to do it themself that would be easier on =
me.. If not, I will be doing it myself anyway :) Just wanted to let you =
all know..
Also, I had a bit of a wish list for weps at the end of my post, so you =
may also want to check that out(its at the end of this email).

-----------------------------------------------MY Post
I think WEPS (http://www.weps.org) should be able to be installed in =
phpnuke in replace of the current download module. Its not exactly a =
download system itself, its more like a file library system. It is VERY =
nice, and is a great alternative if you plan on having LOTS of files =
instead of just a few files for your downloads area. Check it, out, its =
a small download and a Very easy install.=20
It has a few features to be desired, but is all in all much better then =
the current download module. It is reletivly new and is still in active =
develepment by only 1 or 2 people I think. Anyone want to look in to =
integrating it with PHP-Nuke?=20
A few prominent features I would like to point out are .....=20
-Files are all stored in one directory, with categories and =
subcategories being subdirectories this makes it very easy to make =
accessible to an ftp server.(does the current system have this? I didnt =
even check)=20
-Users have the option of download the files as zip, tar.gz or I think =
the other option was .bz2 these compressed files are generated on the =
fly.=20
-Built in search=20
Whats needed....=20
-User system, currently it is wide open, this is almost done I beleive =
and should be in the next release(this would have to be fixed to work =
with phpnukes users system)=20
-When files are uploaded, they should be automaticly be bz2 compressed =
to save on disk space.=20
-I forgot wether it has file descriptions or not but I know it needs a =
rating system, star based preferably, its easy to comprehend at a =
glance. (1 star poor 5 star great...that kind of thing.=20
-I would prefer if the files were transfered securely, but I dont know =
if this is possible.=20
