#5 Need help with Component Menu using Joomla

I have a brand new install on go-daddy's shared Linux.
I manually installed Joomla 1.6.4.

I'm using the 0.0.3 version

after beating a few issues I got the component installed.
But when I selected it from the component menu i got a 404 error file not found.

so I did another new install this time Joomla 1.5.23.
the component installed, but no menu item appears for it.
