It is now possible to generate ARFF files from the raw data of the MNIST database - a benchmark dataset for SVMs.

There exist two different versions of the database, one with 576 features (discriminative features) and one with 784 features (pixel data).
For each of these versions you can download conversion scripts/classes to generate ARFF files from the raw data.

The ARFF files weren't uploaded due to the enormous size (> 100MB). Each ZIP file contains a README file that points to a web location where to obtain the original raw data.

The new downloads are in the "datasets" package, under "MNIST".
