Hi I'm trying to put together an validation example and I'm seeing some strange behavior. I've made an jsp with a form using five ui:textfield tags, an action who extends ActionSupport, implements SessionAware and CommandDriven. I've also made PropertyEditors for some of my fields. The strange thing here is that when I add these editors is that those fields are the only ones that are accessible in the resulting jsp page by <webwork:property> If I remove all the editors I get all the form values in the resulting page. Any clues here? (seems like a bug so I posted it here :) /kjetilhp ......mogul.technology............................................. mogul technology as > kjetil h.paulsen - senior software engineer drammensveien 134, NO-0277 oslo, norway cell +47 95138757, tel +4724114300, fax +4724114399 kje...@mo..., http://www.mogul.com pgp -> DA54 A106 1989 FEF0 294F 63A4 9FC6 0F8E 21AD 0180 .............................................mogul.technology...... |

If I pass in params, then the template will have to check for this param and write appropriate HTML. (is this correct?) What about situations where you want to add JavaScript onchange="EditEvent()" as an attribute. Again, add this as a param and check for it in the template? If this is correct, then eventually the template will check for all possible attributes just to write copy. It seems easier to have a passthru that will allow the user to type anything they want and it will be placed in the tag. Thoughts? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rickard Öberg" <ri...@xp...> To: "Matt Baldree" <ma...@sm...> Cc: "Webwork-Developer" <web...@li...> Sent: Thursday, November 22, 2001 2:14 AM Subject: Re: [Webwork-devel] ui tag feature > Matt Baldree wrote: > > > I have the need to disable some of the form input field controls. For example: <ui:textfield label="'Model'" name="'model'" value="@golfCart/cart/model/description"> <webwork:param name="'disabled'" value="true"/> </ui:textfield> /Rickard -- Rickard Öberg |

I have the need to disable some of the form input field controls. This includes being able to disable check boxes, radio buttons, text, text area, etc. I added a passthru attribute that passes the value directly to the template. This allows me to pass DISABLED, READONLY, and other custom form input attributes without having to mimic all their attributes. Is this a common need or is there a more preferred way of doing this? i.e. <ui:textfield label="'Model'" name="'model'" value="@golfCart/cart/model/description" passthru="DISABLED"/> I have implemented and tested for all the ui controls except table and tabbedpane because I don't think it makes sense. Should this feature be standard? Matt |

Looks like there is a bug with the URL tag.
Test http://localhost:8080/webwork/rss/index.jsp fails.
i.e.
<a href="<webwork:url value="'start.action'"/> returns
"'start.action'". It should return "start.action"
//old
public int doEndTag() throws JspException
{
...
// Add page
link.append(valueAttr);
//suggested fix
public int doEndTag() throws JspException
{
...
// Add page
link.append(value);

Ok! Now that I've had time to add in the webtable to my project, which = is really nice by the way ... very clean ... I'd like to figure out how = to make cells w/ different row span sizes to make a sort of *running* = chart. In the past, I built the table in memory before I displayed the table = and stored the rowspan size value in a 2x2 matrix like: <td rowspan=3D"<%=3D spanTable[c][r] %>" i.e. "spanTable[1][3] =3D 4;" so column #1, row #3 would have a <td = rowspan=3D4> Though this usually made for some very busy and messy web pages. I'd add a new row to a table, top row displays current time. As I add = new rows to the table (each w/ a timed event) I'd have the rowspan size = in a column equal the total rows it spanned. Probably better if I show = an exact example of the type of graph I'm doing: http://tinderbox.mozilla.org/showbuilds.cgi?tree=3DSeaMonkey Any thoughts? |

I would make it less verbose, but also less readable. Feel free to use XSLT to use whatever format you want though, and then simply translate it into WebWork style. /Rickard -- Rickard Öberg |
