Hi, > when I do a clean checkout I get the correct files, however,=20 > when doing a 'update -P -r HEAD' later on I get the .form package A common mistake. HEAD tag should *never* be used, just do cvs update -P CVS tags with the HEAD tag also just-deleted files, and when you update = using -r HEAD you get them. NEVER use HEAD tag :) Hope helps to clarify. Simon |

It looks like I'm having trouble with getting the right version from the = CVS. What is the correct way to get the latest version? is it 'update -r = HEAD'? /kjetilhp |

I'm not sure about other people but using CSS exclusively for those browsers is pretty out of the question for us. I think the stats (obviously it depends greatly on your audience!) run about 10% for Netscape 4 (pretty abominable CSS support) and 20% for IE4. I'd personally be wary of supporting only IE5+ and Mozilla. My $0.02. -mike |

I had "Checkout text files with Unix LF (0xa)" checked in the Global settings in WinCVS. I needed this setting for another project. This setting was mangling LF. So, if you have this checked, uncheck it. :) <snip> _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx |

It's not *that* a big deal, but if you have a choice, 3 is the way to go. /Rickard -- Rickard Öberg |

We have both linux and windows developers on common projects, each sees the appropriate line endings. You should be able to use what is natural for your system with me seeing just \ and you seeing both \r\n. Problems can arise if you check out on one OS and then edit on another or ad new windows files from linux (and I guess the otherway round as well). > * Use a tab setting of 3, expanding into *spaces*, not the tab character Are there some documented coding standards for the project? Are 4 spaces a major problem as all other projects I work on have that as their standard and it is a PITA remembering to change editor settings all the time - of course such a problem would only exist on a new file as all programmers keep to the existing style when editing existing files ;-) Regards Dave |
