This is just a quick announcement for XMLForms release 0.1.4, available from...
Documentation for XMLForms is available in the package and from the above page.
The package can be downloaded directly from (amongst a number of locations)...
From the abstract (see the Docs/index.html file for more information):
XMLForms for Webware attempts to provide high-level data model descriptions
and output templates in order to support sophisticated Web user interfaces
through a minimum of developer effort.
Recent changes (see the RELEASES file for more information):
Support for an enumeration type has been added. It is represented in
XHTML/HTML by "select" and "option" elements. More work is required to permit
multiple value enumerations.
Some bug fixes have been made, of course, and some internal restructuring has
taken place to allow more varied new types to be defined.
Initial support for "screen changing" or "storyboarding" has been included.
The documentation has been updated, with some explanation of the XMLForm
definition processing, output document building and output formatting.
(More documentation is required to describe the enumeration type, the
internals of the data structure API, and other architectural matters.)
Most exciting but most experimental new feature:
Data from clients can be passed to the XMLForms package as XML document
instances (see Examples/instance.xml). This opens up lots of possibilities
with XML-aware clients, but no integration with Webware has been done yet,
nor has any documentation been written about how applications should be
written to take advantage of this feature.
