I tried renaming WebKit/OneShot.cgi to index.cgi to use it as the default
DirectoryIndex. If I access it as
everything works as expected. If I access it as
I get an infinite loop of 301 redirects. Here's what httpget retrieves:

I was able to write another simple little index.cgi script that worked as
expected. Why is this causing an infloop? Webware appears to be writing
the location: header. I added
open ("/home/justrestingsw/trash", "a").write("in index.cgi\n")
and verified that the CGI script is, indeed, being executed.
I am using Hostway, so the entire scope of control of my Apache
configuration file is what will work inside my .htaccess file. (I have none
at the moment.) Hostway's default DirectoryIndex is
I will install Webware on my laptop tomorrow and try things out where I have
a little more control. I was hoping someone might have some ideas in the
