#2 transfer between categories

some way to change allocated cash between two
categories.. so if you over-draw one category, you can
transfer cash from another category. right now the work-
around is to make a transaction and call it something
like 'to groceries' and in the groceries category, make a
transaction that is a negative amount of money, and call
it 'from *whatever*'

Hmm... That's interesting...

So you want to allow users to easily alter their budget, but
keep the same total expenses? Like a mid-month realocation
of money? Or are you wanting to just move a transaction
from one category to another?

yes, alter their budget; in case one overspends.. IE, someone
uses more electricity than their budget has allocated for it, so
they want to use some of the money allocated for say
personal spending

Do you have any ideas for the interface for this? Maybe
some box at the top of the edit budget screen with two drop
downs and a input box to enter and amount. The first down
down will be "From Category:" and the second will be "To
Category:". What do you think?

you got it it one, a mid-month re-allocation.

How I imagine it works, is you want to keep the monthly
budget of $50 for an item, but one month you might kow
you're only going to spend $20.. so you re-allocate that $30
to another category that you might be about to go over in..

therefore the end result is, you may have another category
you normally spend $50 in, but this month you need to spend
more than your normally allocated amount..

for all intents and purposes, you are still within your total
budget...
