    Hi!

I installed Webserv and rebooted my pc. Now when i try to start Apache I get this error:

"This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem"

I also tried to reinstall it but got the same result.

I hope someone could help with this!

It seems  the httpd.exe is corrupted.
      It simply does not run......

i didn't have a problem with it at all.. I have had some problems in the past, with the installs.

The only work around that I got to work when it has done that in the past. was to goto the main apache website and download and install the said program to the webserv directory.

web serv directory by default is:
        C:\WebServ\apache22

when you goto install the apache program into the director, you will have to reboot again.

the apache program installs the service as 'apache 2.2' instead of the webserv 'apache22' so you will also have to change your conf.ini file to match.

Granted that was about 3 versions ago. but try and install the main apache app into the same webserv program folder and overwrite the files. ( it does work ) but its a little tricky at times. all depends on your system and main system settings.

when that happens. with the said error, the installer didn't correctly install the system service. its not an corrupt .exe, just means the service was never installed. see above post, that solution does work as well.

      from in the WebServ\apache22\bin
      dir
run httpd.exe -t from a command line and post the results
might be a bad line in the config file
did you have an older version on WebServ installed?

I installed WebServ on Windows XP Pro and was getting exactly the same message.

The fix was to ensure that all the latest updates including SP3 and IE7 had been run on the computer before installing WebServ and it then worked.
