Am I supposed to be able to see apache.exe running in the Process Tab of Windows Task Manager? I don't.
I do see the mysqld-max-nt.exe task listed there.
I guess that means it started the database server?
I don't see anything for perl or php. Should I?
Maybe a list of tasks that should appear would be helpful documentation.
On another note, since this is WinXP Pro, it has
IIS installed but I can't figure out how to stop it.
I used the Microsoft Management Console and
stopped something - the only thing I could hilite
and get the stop button to become active on.
I am completely new and in the dark, so I need a
good bit of pointers here.
I'd like to get the whole package running.
One last question, where do I get a console prompt that these packages will pay attention to.
I tried running "perl -v" at the built in Windows
prompt, and it said it didn't know anything about
this command. Do I have to manually modify my
PATH variable to find all this stuff?
Please help

stop all the web servers in IIS. Normally there is just "Default Web Site". Right click, stop. That's it.
