Dear Sir or Madam, I was wondering if your organization got my last mails explaining the nature of my proposal. Once again, I would really appreciate if you can give me the chance to translate your articles and therefore make it more available to the population of Ex Yugoslavia. Please do not hesitate to ask me any question which can explain you more adequately my purpose. As you can imagine, this step would be very bright and I would really appreciate if you can take this into consideration. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Dear Sir or Madam, I have sent you my request for permission to translate your article a week ago and it was unclear whether your organization had time to take a look at it. It would be highly appreciative for my objects towards connecting ex Yugoslavian people with your article and information in it, if your website can take into consideration my proposal. I hope that you will find the time to review it. I have a slackware 10 OS. I've upgraded j2sdk to 1.4.2_13, and the jre to 1.5.0_09. Webphotopublish acts like it's doing everything I ask, but it actually ignores my request to resize, and my requests to place captions over the photos. I don't care much about where the captions end up, but I really need the resizing. Originals are 1280x960 and 960x1280, and I'm asking for 640x480 and 480x640. The album creates beautiful pages and thumbs, but the pics remain 1280x960 (& vc vsa). I was forced to give up the other day and use a windows box with Picassa, but I'd really like to use my linux box. By the way, I don't know if this would be related, or not, but the Linux install of Picassa does not work for me either. Install goes fine, but when I start, I get a little spinning cursor, then it just stops with no messages. This Slackware install has worked well for me in every other way, so I'm very plerplexed over this, especially since I can find no other mention of my issues by anyone else regarding WebPhotoPublish. As I'm running several web and mail servers off this machine, I'm really not able to perform major upgrades easily. I hope you have a simple answer for me. Thank in advance. Dear Open Source developer I am doing a research project on "Fun and Software Development" in which I kindly invite you to participate. You will find the online survey under http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/. The questionnaire consists of 53 questions and you will need about 15 minutes to complete it. With the FASD project (Fun and Software Development) we want to define the motivational significance of fun when software developers decide to engage in Open Source projects. What is special about our research project is that a similar survey is planned with software developers in commercial firms. This procedure allows the immediate comparison between the involved individuals and the conditions of production of these two development models. Thus we hope to obtain substantial new insights to the phenomenon of Open Source Development. With many thanks for your participation, Benno Luthiger PS: The results of the survey will be published under http://www.isu.unizh.ch/fuehrung/blprojects/FASD/. We have set up the mailing list fa...@we... for this study. Please see http://fasd.ethz.ch/qsf/mailinglist_en.html for registration to this mailing list. _______________________________________________________________________ Benno Luthiger Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich 8092 Zurich Mail: benno.luthiger(at)id.ethz.ch _______________________________________________________________________ |
