#15 JavaScript incompatible with MacOS IE5.0

The JavaScript generated into index.html does not seem
to be compatible with IE5.0 on Mac OS 9. It reloads the
indexjs.html page, but nothing appears. (I did not try
setting the MIMETYPE to application/javascript in
Apache; I guess I ought to try that...)

The same problem exists with Mozilla 1.0 and 1.1b under
Linux. Javascript is OK under Konqueror, which had me
thinking maybe the problem was in Mozilla, but the original
problem reported here is making me think otherwise.
