Christ, that is nuts. Are you sure your server wasn't hijacked and used as 
a warez repository for a day or so?

Maybe someone wrote an automated test script running against 
www.webmacro.org ... it would be interesting to find out what the UserAgent 
and referrers were on that day.

All in all though, I'm impressed at getting the hits up to 14000 in one 
day. That's an increase of around 10,000 over normal daily accesses.
