#3 Gif files not downloaded

.gif files are not being handled correctly, see

In fact, mime type handling needs sorting out properly,
and the question "do we really need to know a mime
type before download" should be answered. Basically,
it's a nice feature to be able to say "get images first" (or
last, or not at all) but should not be at the expense of
correct operation!
