Well, this has been discussed on the list before and I'm all for enabling more sophisticated authentication mechanisms. I'll have to dive in the details a bit to see how this can be supported. Hopefully we can find a way that enables the administrator to choose between openId, container authentication or some other form. I'll get back on this when I come to the point the pluginframework is more or less finished and I'm moving on to the firstrun wizard.
