Dou you mean completely out of the panel (that would be a bit of a pain)?
How about changing this :

into something like this:

wicket:id="calendarVisibleLinkImg" alt="" /></a>
				<wicket:panel wicket:id="listItemContents"></wicket:panel>

calendar</wicket:message></a>

Would that be sufficient?
