I'd go for a XHTML strict + CSS template, one column and a bit (a bit)
web 2.0 looks to it. And of course a free license, so it can easily be
adjusted.

How about using blog software as a CMS? With links to the wiki
('documentation', 'developers') and the demo and - obviously - a feed
for news.
