A minor change to alter the way the calendar displays, using percentages to control the division size instead of a fixed pixel width and adding some task status icons (New, Active).

Thanks. I've downloaded the patch and have been playing with it.

The comment in the code about shortening to fit the box can be done with box_shorten() (in /includes/common.php). And the tooltips can be done in HTML. I've added those two features in... and am still fiddling at present!

    Hi Andrew,
Sounds good, I look forward to the result. I kept readding this change to every release you made since 2.40, so I thought I'd create the patch in the hope you would adopt it.
(I'd like to see a better "New" icon, I'm not overly excited about my creative effort on that one.).
One other thing strikes me as odd is the forever changing color scheme in the calander for each different project, but that’s very minor in my eyes.
Anyway, Thanks for taking a look.
If I ever get some time, I always wanted to look into adding Gantt and pert chart functionality.
    But now I seriously digress...
    Regards
    Fred

I've just typed in long description in reply to your comment about this and then uploaded a file - and it's trashed my text!!
O.K. - what I've uploaded is a work in progress, but working along the way.
The forever changing colours are annoying. They were part of a patch submitted a while back. It'll be in the Change Log. I agree it would be good to link colours to projects, but it would probably need to added to the project database.
Oh, and the icons my patch aren't very good either, they need more playing with too.

    Hi Andrew,
I've looked through your cnages, and they all make sence,
Any chance of getting a copy of your new icons too?
Once I have them I'll update my copy and see what it look's like.

    Regards

    Fred

Yes, I'll upload the two image files. I'm not sure they're the right ones to use, but they were my first pick. All the icons come from the 'Silk' icon series from famfamfam.com because I got formal permission to use them with the GPL licence and WebCollab. It makes sense to keep using them for consistency.

I've left the table width in percent because I wasn't quite sure how it would adapt to different screen resolutions. Probably it would be better how you've done it. The left hand menu bar is already in fixed pixels width.

    Hay Andrew,
I noticed a minor annoyance with the light bulb icons, when you print them in black and white, you can't tell the difference between the status of the effected tasks.
I supose finding a different icon from your famfamfam.com library would fix it?

Agreed, they don't work do they? That's what I meant about not being sure about the icons.

    Any ideas?

I just switched back to my play icon (In the original patch) for active tasks.
You can keep the icon if you like, it is guarenteed 100% my own work (using gimp) and I am happy to release all rights of any sort to your project.
