Yes you can.  Highlight the groups you want and press the 'submit'
button.  The user will be added to these selected groups.

You aren't meant to remove the username.  The user will be removed from
any de-selected groups when you press 'submit'.

See above.  The [Del] key won't (shouldn't) have any effect.
