#67 Project Categories

What would it take to implement a 'Category' heading to
the project list? This would be useful for sorting projects
by type or department or user or whatever you wanted
to change the choices to.

What you're really looking for is taskgroups for projects.

The functionality is mostly already there, but not currently
enabled. I'll see how easy it is to enable.

I like to add a me to being able to group projects would be
realy usefull

in our case by clients as we are trialing webcolab as a
project tracking tool..

Would project categories work like this:

Category Project Tasks

Client 1 Project 1 task 1
Client 1 Project 1 task 2
Client 1 Project 2 task 1
Client 1 Project 2 task 2
Client 1 Project 2 task 3

Client 2 Project 1 task 1
Client 3 Project 1 task 1

Basically operating like folders for client or section,
then each project has its own progress bar rather than
setting up a project (as category) with tasks as projects
and sub tasks as tasks for each project (as I currently
have to do)?

This would be a great feature to have and would make
WebCollab alot more client friendly. Might I suggest also
having permissions for each category. This could set a
default access permission to any projects created in the
category.

I would like to have task/project categories too.

Example: I have few robotics projects and few software projects and I would like to see only one category at a time.
And in robotics project I have some software tasks so I'd like to see all tasks/projects which are categorized in software category so I will see both software only projects and software tasks from robotics project at one time.

Gee, hope you'll understand what I mean ;-)
