I follow several open source projects on GitHub and I really see the benefit - it is very easy to see the development and to participate. I'm not sure what are author's plans, but it could really revive the participation and make project more popular.

There is actually a copy of the WebCollab tree on GitHub. I don't know who put it there (It wasn't me). They were syncing with the SF Git, but seem to have lost interest. So it's probably a good time to add the tree there.
I'll have a look at adding a repo there.
There are quite a few Git Repos already syncing with SF Git. I can see the statistics generated, but not where they are based.
