Hello,
I just updated to webmin 1.860, usermin 1.721 on Debian 8, using your deb packages, and now webmail is failing to delete messages.
For example:

Failed to open temp file /home/my_username/.usermin/mailbox/my_username.del : No such file or directory

The deleted message is copied to Trash, but not deleted from inbox.
And it behaves as this at every folder.
Using an imap email client work as before.
Simply creating an empty file at the displayed location did not solve it.
Also, I tried to create a new test user and it did not create any email folder for this new account.
Do you have any hints?

Does the directory /home/my_username/.usermin/mailbox exist on your system?

Also, are you deleting email using the Webmin interface on port 10000, or Usermin on port 20000 ?

Yes, it does and contains other files, .dir, .ids, .sched, .pag. An auto.pl, one lastfolder and other files not directly folder related but same dir ids pag suffixes.
using usermin to read and delete emails for each user login.
Because of strict firewall, I have been using usermin at port 82 for years. Webmin at other low port.
No configuration manually altered from 1.720 to 1.721.

Check that the user whom you are deleting email for isn't over his disk quota, in particular his file count quota - that could cause the .del file to fail to be created.

Hello,
Thanks for your hint. But do not have disk quotas enabled. Also, Dovecot 90-quota.conf is still as installed.
I created a clean new disposable test user, and it has the same problems for one email only.
usermin 1.720 works well, with the same accounts.
Do you have other suggestions for tests?

What format mail files do you use on your system - Maildir (directory with one file per message) or mbox (single large mail file) ?

Hello,
users inbox at /var/mail/username format mbox file
other folders at /home/username/mail/foldername mbox file.
Only one user has Trash as maildir.
It seems the webmin/usermin default for dovecot.

Ok, I see the bug that causes this now - it will be fixed in the next release. Or you can apply this patch to /usr/share/usermin/mailbox/boxes-lib.pl : https://github.com/webmin/webmin/commit/681abfd80389a4ef12579b2c2338e69c4b9ade3d
