#398 sending email with chinese font...

we have some asian users that correspond in chinese character sets (ie simplified and traditional chinese). There are no problems with receiving these emails in chinese font, and it appears usermin "forward" emails plus adding more chinese characters to the original email has no problem propagating email properly to recipient(s) of Outlook and OE.

However, after "composing" a new email, then it does not seem to work with chinese characters, ie the composed email under usermin looks okay in "Unicode (UTF-8)" but it doesn't propagate to recipient(s) Outlook or OE which looks like giberish (e.g. "美國人的實力:想打誰,就打誰。", but should look like "美國人的實力:想打誰,就打誰。"). The giberish appears in usermin's "Sent Mail" too, ie until I change language to "Unicode (UTF-8)", then it appears okay as well. However, this is not an option in Outlook, nor OE. Note: seems pasting giberish into notepad file from OUTLOOK, then saving and re-opening notepad file displays chinese characters correctly as well. Although it may be considered a work around it's really is a bit cumbersome...

Using IE 7.0 with usermin 1.440

Would appreciate you thoughts in this matter, and thank you in advance for your consideration,

Does it help if you change the character set for sent email to UTF-8 at Preferences -> Sending email -> Character set for sent mail?

well yes, setting UTF-8 in preference seems to work...

Great .. I recommend using that in future. You can also set it for all users in Webmin, and Usermin Configuration -> Usermin Module Configuration -> Read Mail -> Default users preferences

hmmm, I've taken your advise -- although I think I only have 1-2 users on usermin checking their emails after hours. Cheers, and thanks again!
