A little off topic, but some of it is what do I need to do and some of
it is how do I do it in Webmin.
We're changing domain names. All the users of both old and new domains
will remain the same. For instance, the email account user1@...
will change to user1@... There are a few ways to do this in
sendmail it appears, and Webmin addresses this with a few ways to
accommodate the different ways.
If I use Domain Masquerading, what are the consequences for outgoing and
incoming email? What is the "Domains not to masquerade" field for? This
server handles a few different domains.
I think I can also use Outgoing Addresses as well. Again, what are the
consequences and differences from Domain Masquerading. Webmin says I
don't have "generics" setup yet, so I'm a little worried about going
The sendmail web site has a few options for these features, like
masquerade entire domain, etc, and I don't see those in Webmin, so I'm
curious and a little hesitant to go further.
Any help on choosing one way over another and why you would choose it
would be greatly appreciated. This will be a short-term changeover and I
hope I can do this without using any of the above, but there's always
those folk that won't follow a notice to modify their email setup.
