got myself caught in a bind yesterday. Installed version was 0.78 so it
may not apply any longer.
Had a customer that had RedHat 6.1 (no MD5 on user passwords) and he had
forgotten (as did I) his root password and the admin password for webmin
and of course, lost the sheet of paper that it was written down on.
SO I rebooted to runlevel 1 and changed the root password but deleted
the entire password for the admin user in /etc/webmin/minisev.users
When I logged on as admin - no password, I only got a blank page - no
modules, no layout besides the header.
I then deleted the entire /etc/webmin/miniserv.users file and
reinstalled from tarball - same problem - but it didn't recreate the
