Hi, I'm considering migrating my server from postfixadmin (2.1) to webmin for management... Versions: postfix: 2.4.5 mysql: 5.0.44 postfixadmin: 2.1 (I think with a newer version of the vacation script) mailman: 2.1.9 courier-imap: 4.0.6 Using virtual users, only one domain currently, but will be adding a couple more soon. Has anyone ever done this? Am I asking for trouble? I'm not a programmer, but am not afraid of the command-line, as long as I have a reliable how-to... On a sidenote... I'm also planning on switching from courier to dovecot, but will probably wait for the 1.1 release - how is webmins support for dovecot? Thanks, Charles |

I've never actually used postfixadmin, but it directly updates Postfix config files like /etc/postfix/virtual and aliases, then Webmin will see those same entries and allow you to manage them. > On a sidenote... Webmin's support for Dovecot is pretty complete - there is a module specifically for configuring it, and it works with all the config formats used in the different Dovecot versions. - Jamie |

Great to hear - thanks Jamie! |

And unfortunately I still haven't implemented it. However, since I just added support for MySQL and LDAP backends to the SpamAsassin module, it shouldn't be too hard to add this for Postfix too. - Jamie |

It's not ideal, but you can use the MySQL module in Webmin to edit/update/maintain the Postfixadmin tables. It's not as neat as you have to manually edit a bunch of tables, but it's doable. -- Freddie Cash, LPIC-2 CCNT CCLP Network Support Technician School District 73 (250) 377-HELP [377-4357] fca...@sd... |

Well, the good news is that I am working on supporting MySQL and LDAP backends in the Postfix module (and Virtualmin) right now. I should be done for the next Webmin release.. - Jamie |
