You will need some kind of browser to access Webmin, either on your linux machine, or on another machine on your network (assuming you have a network). If you don't want to install X and a browser you might be able to use a text browser like lynx or w3m, although I have no experience of either so I can't say for sure. Hope this helps, Jon Links: http://ei5nazha.yz.yamagata-u.ac.jp/~aito/w3m/eng/ (w3m browser) http://www.lynx.browser.org/ (lynx browser) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Harmit" <ha...@op...> To: "webadmin" <web...@li...> Sent: Friday, April 20, 2001 7:40 AM Subject: WEBMIN INSTALLATION > Hi > It is simple and goofy query but I have no experience of webmin s/w .I > need to have a linuxconf substitute. > Iam using linux .2 on intel platform.I have Installed a webmin-0_0.85 > on this box. > But I don't know how to initialise and use it to the full as it shows me > that > login to > http://localmachine:10000 > I have not installed a browser or X windows on my linux box.Is it > mandatory to have netscape or some other browser on your system. > Please guide me how should I proceed further. > TIA > > > - > Forwarded by the Webmin mailing list at web...@we... > To remove yourself from this list, go to > http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/webadmin-list > > _____________________________________________________________________ > This message has been checked for all known viruses by Star Internet delivered > through the MessageLabs Virus Control Centre.
