Jamie: I found 2 more problems with Webmin & Postgres 9 If you add "allowed servers" ( I chose to allow all ) Postgres does not start any more. Error log says FATAL: syntax error in file "/opt/postgres/9.0/data/postgresql.conf" line 529, near token "all" removing the inserted line, then Postgres starts OK ________________________________________________________ Webmin says in the Postgres module: Warning: The Perl module DBD::Pg is not installed on your system, so Webmin will not be able to reliably access your PostgreSQL database. Click here to install it now. . So I installed it clicking on th elink - no problems. After that ( and bringuing down and up Postgres ) once again cannot connect to Postgres from Webmin. Message is DBI connect failed : could not connect to server: No such file or directory Is the server running locally and accepting connections on Unix domain socket "/var/run/postgresql/.s.PGSQL.5432"? So I uninstalled DBD::Pg and all is OK again --- On Fri, 3/11/11, Jamie Cameron <jca...@we...> wrote: From: Jamie Cameron <jca...@we...> Subject: Re: [webmin-l] postgres 9.0.3 unable to access from Webmin To: "Webmin users list" <web...@li...> Date: Friday, March 11, 2011, 3:23 AM Hi Francisco, Where are you installing PostgreSQL 9.0.3 from? I'd like to test this myself .. but I don't see 9.0.3 packages for Ubuntu 10.10. On 10/Mar/2011 14:35 Francisco Leovey <fl...@ya...> wrote .. Hello Jamie The password for user postgres was not changed and is "postgres", as in all my Linux servers. I have no idea why psql is going to /temp to read a password to a .webmin _index? And it looks for it in a different named .cgi? I wrote the password in the module configuration after webmin complained about it. But now I cannot see the Postgres module config any more, as soon as I click on the Postgres Elephant icon I get the error. And all stops there. >From the Webmin bootup module I can start and stop Postgres OK and I can load data using the PgAdmin. I feel something got messed up within the webmin module. Have you tried it in Ubuntu 10.10 with Postgres 9.0.3? The only change was removing Postgres 8.3 and installing the new Postgres. It is unclear from this error if the password is wrong, or if the psql command doesn't like reading it from a temp file .. On 10/Mar/2011 06:53 Francisco Leovey <fl...@ya...> wrote ..
