That's what I was trying to do, postfix with sasl authentication through dovecot. I want to make sure people can't send spam through my server. As it is right now, mail can be sent out from any address on my port 25 without authentication. I upgraded dovecot and this config does work now. The latest dovecot in the CentOS repositories are still 0.99 so I have to download the package from a link on the dovecot site and install it.
