Yes, ping works to both servers with all workstations. <JC>>>>>2) Can you connect to other services (like SSH or the website) from the Windows boxes?<<<<< Yes, that all works fine from all workstations. <JC>>>>>3) Is anything logged by Webmin to /var/webmin/miniserv.error or miniserv.log when you try to connect?<<<<< No, there is nothing in any of the log files that relates to this. There was an initial error message in the log file for each server, generated this morning when I first installed Webmin, having to do with inability to use PAM authentication, but that seems not to have anything to do with this error. I can't even progress to the login box... the web clients won't connect to https on port 10000 at all. Such failed attempts to connect to the server from Windows do not generate any new messages to the log files. Keep in mind that the Linux workstations on that exact same subnet connect to Webmin fine, including one Linux workstation that is a VMware virtual machine that is hosted on one of the same WinXP boxes that will not connect. I believe there is some obscure goofball setting in Windows having something to do with https on a non-standard port (port 10000), but I can't find anything in Windows help, Google, dejanews, Microsoft knowledge base, or anywhere else I can think of... note that as I said, all firewalls have been disabled and anyway, Win2K (which has no firewall) shows the same behavior.
