hi, thanks to all who replied. seems to me that webmin does a string compare when decides whether to use a proxy or not to reach a particular host. if the hosts you are trying to reach are specified by their full domain names, 'no proxy' can be defined as a list of host names separated by spaces. if 'no proxy' is for an entire zone, e.g. all hosts in webmin.com, .webmin.com should be specified. if hosts are specified by their ip numbers, a list of ip numbers separated by spaces can be defined. an entire subnet can be defined by leaving the host portion off, e.g. 10. for a class, 172.16. for b class, or 192.168.0. for c class. all of these definitions can be mixed on the 'no proxy' line, as long as they are separated by space characters. bests, gotthard |
