There isn't a bandwidth limit of something?

Say xGB a day something like that, so when you start the 2GB transfer to use all the bandwidth up?

You might want to try checking the logs on the destination system, such as /var/log/messages. There may be an entry from the SSH server saying why the connection dropped..
