Have been searching whether its possible to use an .htaccess file to add additional protection to the webmin web directory.  Basically - would like users to enter a seperate username and password before having access to the webmin login screen.

Tried putting the htaccess file in /usr/share/webmin (where I'm pretty sure the actual web site is loading from).  Not successful, the login page loads up without the htaccess/htpasswd dialog box.

Also tired an htaccess file in /var/webmin - also not successful.

Any Suggestions?  Is this do-able?

Running: Ubuntu dapper with what ever the default install for webmin is using the .deb file, using the latest version of webmin.
